Photographer of the Year, presented by Ted's, is the largest competition of its kind for amateur photographers in Australia and New Zealand.
Now in its 13th year, it offers nine categories (both portfolio and single shot) and a prize pool totalling more than $28,000, including $10,000 in cash prizes.
The competition closes in September 2025 and culminates with the release of a special Photographer of the Year edition of Australian Photography magazine in December, showcasing more than 500 of the best images from the competition in print. Further, each one of the nine category winners is printed on A2 paper and exhibited at Ted's World of Imaging store in Pitt St, Sydney.
Entering is easy, choose a category above and follow the steps to submit your images. If you are entering one of the portfolio categories, keep in mind that your images should be related in some way – thematically, aesthetically or both. You can enter multiple categories and submit as many entries as you like.
