Matthew Coleman, Whispers of Warburton (LANDSCAPE 2026)
These photographs were taken on a wet Saturday morning in the rainforests around Warburton, Victoria. Following recent rainfall, the creeks were flowing strongly, weaving their way through moss-covered boulders beneath a canopy of ancient tree ferns. I have always been drawn to places like this. The sound of running water, the deep greens of the forest and the feeling of being completely immersed in nature create a sense of peace that is difficult to put into words. Through these images, I wanted to capture not only the beauty of the rainforest, but also the atmosphere and emotion of being there in that moment. Photography gives me a reason to slow down and truly observe the natural world. These scenes are a reminder that some of the most rewarding experiences can be found in quiet places, hidden among the forests of Victoria. — Matt Coleman
