Joanne Costanzo, Transient Nature (AERIAL 2025)
Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre is one of Australia’s most iconic natural wonders. This vast salt lake is usually dry but very occasionally will fill with floodwaters from QLD and NSW. As water moves down towards the lake, the Channel country turns green and the normally white salty landscape changes colour due to salt loving algae and bacteria. However, these changes in the landscape are short lived. As the heat of summer approaches, the water quickly evaporates and the lake once again returns to being a large dry salt pan.
