Rosie Lang, Traces of the West (TRAVEL 2025)

Traces of the West.  As day fades and begins its transition towards night, this series of images celebrates interconnectedness concealed within polarity; from the urbanised South-West to remote regions of far North-Western Australia. Themes of play & resilience; the strength of solitude balanced against ties to community; the cyclical role between regeneration & destruction; a countryside ablaze contrasted against the quiet, ephemeral movement of life which passes unseen, leaving trace imprints in the sand.  Traces of the West is an analog photographic series celebrating the deep rhythmic connection embedded within life along the West Australian coast; the North & South-West - from the Kimberley to Walyalup [Fremantle,] captured exclusively on Kodak 35mm film.
