D'Lana Benton, The Weight of Time (CREATIVE 2026)

The Weight of Time explores the invisible burden of living with Depression and Anxiety. The pocket watch symbolises time, something that can feel slow due to Depression but coexisting with anxiety the amount of time you have can be overwhelming or never enough. Its chain wraps around the hand suggesting a weight that cannot be set aside. Woven around the hand is fairy lights which represent hope that this weight will not always be so hard. Together, it shows that hardship and hope can coexist.
