Esbjorn Torstensson, The Unfurling (SINGLE SHOT 2026)

There’s a particular kind of strength here that has nothing to do with hardness. It’s the strength of patience, of things that grow by yielding and unfolding rather than forcing. The frond doesn’t fight the dark around it. It simply keeps becoming, and in its own time it will open completely. The image holds both truths at once: that the most vulnerable-looking things are often the ones carrying the most potential, and that being unfinished is not the same as being weak. The curl is a pause, not a retreat.
