Welcome to Ko Samet, Rayong province, Thailand where locals and tourists alike volunteer to comb the beach for litter and pollution twice daily. Sai Kaew Beach (Beach of Glass Sand) is home to the mermaid statue by renowned sculptor, Haritorn Akarapat, inspired by characters from the legend and love story which is PHRA ALPHAI MANI written by celebrated 19th century poet Sunthorn Phu.
