GERARD DE ROO, Tashkent open kitchen (TRAVEL 2026)
During a walking tour in Tashkent, we came across an open‑kitchen food preparation area buzzing with local life. People were lining up to buy freshly cooked dishes, some taking them home, others eating right there on the spot. The aromas of Central Asian spices drifted through the air, mixing with the warmth of charcoal fires and the smoke rising from sizzling meat. It was one of those moments where the smell alone made you want to try everything on offer.
