Traditional wooden fishing huts stand humbly along the shores of the Ariake Sea, weathered by generations of salt air and wind, while rows of aquaculture poles stretch into the horizon. The seascape is occasionally punctuated with religiously symbolic torii gates and old fishing boats wait patiently for the next harvest. The Japanese fishing village of Tara is a magical place which feels frozen in time.
