GERARD DE ROO, Tajikistan, Fann Mountain Herders (TRAVEL 2026)

Traveling through Tajikistan last year, we pulled over to let a herder pass with his goats, a couple of donkeys, and a few cows. Leading them was a young boy, completely carefree, moving through the world with a simplicity that felt timeless. Moments like this remind me how beautiful life can be when it’s unhurried.
