Tailings are waste products from mining process. Their colours are often associated with the mineral types that show unique and stunning extremes of colour, textures and patterns as a result of the thick viscous chemical muds that dry in place (desiccation cracks) or flow (being pumped) and are only appreciated by observation from aerial platforms such as drones or aircraft
