Daniel Sly, Sydney's Pygmy Pipehorse (ANIMAL & NATURE 2025)
Sydney’s pygmy pipehorses are a colourful and unique part of the local marine life, appearing in shades of red, gold, white, and purple. Discovered only in 1997, they are found exclusively in the Sydney region. They are exceptional at camouflage and can be difficult to spot. Their fascinating behaviours, such as egg transfer in the middle of the water column, offer a rare glimpse into their secretive lives.
