Jaye Williams, Swamphen: The Light and the Dark side (SINGLE SHOT 2026)

An Australasian Swamphen stares directly at the camera, with one side of its face in light and the other side in darkness, representing the light and dark side of nature. Although this Swamphen looks ready for battle, with its face shield showing scratches and imperfections, the Swamphens on site were peacefully feeding on roots with young birds, showing their light side. However, these birds are reputed egg stealers, who will also eat ducklings if they can catch them, which although natural, is part of the darker side of nature.
