Marie Arthur, Stripping away distraction (BLACK & WHITE 2026)

Life moves pretty fast, but I've always found a lot of joy in slowing down to look at the character and details people tend to rush right past. This collection explores that contrast through a high intensity, black and white lens, alternating between the permanent, heavy geometry of the city and shifting forms of the atmosphere above it. By stripping away distraction of colour and leaning into high contrast monochrome, I wanted to isolate these moments and look at how the grand scale of Sydney's architecture holds a conversation with the simple, transient rhythm of nature.
