The arctic presents multiple photographic opportunities, different light, and in summer areas with stark contrasts as the snow and ice recedes. This story shows a snap shot of the arctic largely within the ice that fills it during summer, and perhaps a forecast of the future. This story becomes more powerful in black and white - a portfolio of bleakness along with a glimmer of hope
