Tashwita Rahalkar, Portraits of Resilience (ANIMAL & NATURE 2025)
I have been fascinated with Keas for years, and on my visit to New Zealand, I had the privilege to witness these extraordinary birds in action. High in the Southern Alps, the Kea—the world's only alpine parrot—thrives where few expect a parrot to survive. These images capture different facets of this threatened species in their element. Watching these intelligent birds adapt and flourish in such harsh conditions was a profound reminder of nature's resilience and the urgent need to protect these extraordinary survivors.
