Amanda Stuart, My curious and joyful companion (ANIMAL & NATURE 2025)

I spent ten days in a villa in Mauritius and this Red-Whiskered Bulbul was my daily companion (even thought I didn't provide any food). Definitely the most curious and joyful bird I have ever encountered, it was in the garden all day, singing, hopping around and observing me. I can see why in some parts of Asia the Red-Whiskered Bulbul is thought to bring good fortune and prosperity. In the third photo, the bulbul has managed to catch an insect, after a long chase.
