Annette Bigby, Moss Tree On the Pohutukawa Branch (SINGLE SHOT 2025)

When I showed this image to a Southlander they thought it was a deciduous tree on a snowy hill at sunset. I loved their description and had to tell them the true story: it’s a small growth of moss on branch of a Pohutukawa tree, 4 metres above the ground. So yes, I climbed the Pohutukawa tree at Hihi beach, to get a unique view of the sunset and saw this perfectly small piece of moss
