Jacob Dedman, Moments in the Yard (PEOPLE 2025)

It was my first time at a cutting event, and I tried capturing the little moments outside the main event. While Lianne was warming up in the yard with the other riders, I took some slow shutter shots of her moving with the horse, the background all blurred so you could really feel the motion. At one point through the fence, her head was down, hat pulled low, horse’s ears just peeking over the bars—it was such a simple little moment that grabbed my attention. Later, after the warm-up, she stepped outside the yard with the sun behind them, just her and the horse in that golden glow.
