Winter in the Canadian Rockies is irresistible and, alongside autumn, remains one of my favourite seasons for photography. During this season, much of the human clamour falls away, leaving space to experience these beautiful, enriching landscapes in rare and welcome solitude. This landscape series from around British Columbia’s Kootenay National Park examines nature’s underlying winter structures—the elemental building blocks of its winter expression. It explores the intricate strength and beauty of icy formations as they develop under meticulous conditions of temperature and water flow.
