Kate Powick, Lake Hawea (SINGLE SHOT 2025)

Taken earlier this year on a summer's evening. We were travelling around the South Island of New Zealand, and I was just constantly drawn by the majesty and awe inspired by the scenery, and also the light. This was late afternoon/early evening overlooking Lake Hawea, and the light was acting as a spotlight on the magnificent mountains behind. The fellow in the foreground was more interested in his phone conversation (maybe a local who is lucky enough to see this every day!), but I couldn't focus (literally) on anything beyond the wonder before me.
