Laura Symes, Kinship (LANDSCAPE 2025)
Out here, the land breathes dust and wind. These images were made in a place where storms rise without warning, where visibility vanishes and the highway comes to a halt beneath a choking haze. It’s a landscape shaped by extremes — relentless, dangerous and humbling in its force. But between the gusts, there are moments of stillness: emus walking a quiet line across bare paddocks, twisted trees holding ground, silhouettes softened by suspended earth. This is a story of both resilience and exposure — of the kinship between land, life, and the untamed breath of nature.
