Lorenzo Passalacqua, Humans (ANIMAL & NATURE 2025)

Shot in Cambodia, Thailand, and Malaysia, Humans questions where instinct ends and identity begins. Their eyes hold something disturbingly familiar — hunger, comfort, contemplation, even guilt. A monkey drinks from a Coke can, another hides beneath a cloth, one eats with stolen hands, one pauses in thought, gaze steady and aware. Each moment echoes our own behaviours, stripped of disguise. In their gestures we meet ourselves — not evolved, not superior — just raw mirrors of the same restless species.
