Adrian Smarrelli, Hohenzollernbrücke (TRAVEL 2025)
The Hohenzollernbrücke also nicknamed Lliebesbrücke, spanning the Rhine River in Cologne, Germany, is a vital railway bridge built from 1907 to 1911. Named after the Hohenzollern dynasty, it handles over 1,200 trains daily, making it Germany’s busiest. Its 409-meter steel arches, rebuilt after 1945 wartime damage, now support six tracks and pedestrian paths. Since 2008, thousands of love locks have decorated its railings, symbolizing romance and love. Flanked by four Prussian equestrian statues, it offers stunning views of the Kölner Dom and Rhine River.
