Kerryn Buckley, Harvesting the Sea (TRAVEL 2026)

Along a remote secluded coastline in East Sumba, local families work with the flow of the tides, gathering seaweed from the ocean in traditional handmade boats. The harvest is brought ashore, sorted and carried by hand—a physically demanding livelihood shaped by the sea and the changing weather.
