Brian Rope, Handmade Trees (CREATIVE 2025)

I’ve recently been creating photo-artworks exploring trees without using a camera as such. My tools have included phone Apps which do make use of the built-in camera but apply “lenses” that are nothing to do with the built-in lenses. They also use “films” which are not actually films. I’ve used an old printer which is unreliable in terms of the colours it prints (especially when I deliberately put the wrong colour ink in one or more cartridges), and a scanner which does a rather poor job of reproducing the already wrong colours in those prints. I also used a variety of options to make further adjustments, ranging from simple colour, contrast and tone changes to a variety of different digital software package filters. This is one of my created images.
