Avichal Tatu, Granite Country (LANDSCAPE 2026)

Devonian granite weathers into boulders across the grazing land between Pyalong and Tooborac in central Victoria, ground that has been worked as pasture for over a century. These photographs were made before dawn on a single foggy morning, when the fog flattens the light and reduces the country to its essentials: rock, tree, stock, fence. The land holds two timescales at once, the geological and the agricultural, and on a morning like this the older one shows through.
