Allison Boehm, Gannet's Greetings (ANIMAL & NATURE 2025)
A couple of years ago whilst on a long awaited adventure, I was absolutely blessed to be able to visit the home of hundreds of Gannets in Lambert's Bay, on the west coast of South Africa. These gorgeous creatures have always fascinated me. I was told that these two beautiful souls were not in fact fighting. Instead; they were greeting each other as if to say, "It's been absolute ages! So great to see you after all this time!" Rolling in the mud and locking beaks together, finishing with a bow and a final "hoorah!" Just as we would greet an old friend or family member we haven't seen for a long time; greeting them with a huge smile and an even bigger hug, followed by a celebration! Gives you the warm and fuzzies!
