Jana Sokolovskaja, Galápagos boobies (ANIMAL & NATURE 2025)

The Galápagos are home to three types of boobies, each rocking their own signature look: starting with the famous blue-footed booby, whose bright turquoise feet are used in hilarious mating dances. Then there’s the red-footed booby, the smallest of the bunch, perched in trees with firetruck-red feet and a knack for nesting high up. Finally, the Nazca booby keeps it classy with pale, no-nonsense feet and a bold black-and-white outfit – more about attitude than colour.
