Linda Shepherd, Fatherhood (SINGLE SHOT 2025)

On a recent outback NSW trip, just outside of Tibooburra, we cam e across an Emu dad and his five little striped chicks. He was very comfortable with us watching him and his chicks as they foraged for food, the chicks running after dad. This photo was captured as they were crossing the road and dad was strolling to the other side of the road with the chicks following at a slightly quicker pace. I feel so privileged to have been able to spend this time with this emu and his chicks. It is not a sight a lot of travellers get to see.
