Angela Wolstencroft, Faces of Stromboli (LANDSCAPE 2025)
There are few places I have seen that embody raw, untamed energy like Stromboli. For centuries it has had a fiery glow and helped sailors navigate the Tyrrhenian Sea near Sicily. It has been known for this as the Lighthouse of the Mediterranean . I have set out to capture Stromboli in its shifting moments from calm mornings to explosive evenings. One side vegetation and fertile land and the other black from the lava flow across the centuries. The images tell the story of a living volcano that never rests, reminding us of our smallness in the face of earths power.
