Philip Maxwell, Dive (SINGLE SHOT 2025)
I was convalescing after having major surgery on my right shoulder. Bored from sitting around I took my camera and tripod piece by piece to our outside table. We have a bird bath that is visited by wattle birds in the afternoon and I wanted to capture them mid bath. The focus was set manually on one side of the bird bath so that the depth of field would include any bird in the bath. So I waited and was duly rewarded by a red neck wattle bird coming and going through their bath routine. This image typifies the intensity of their routine and has a bonus insect that only showed up when i processed the image.
