Daniel Sly, Creatures of the Night: Sydney Harbour (ANIMAL & NATURE 2025)

At night in Sydney Harbour, beneath the waves of this bustling city, a huge amount of marine life becomes active. The blue-lined octopus stands out with its bright electric blue stripes against the sandy seabed. Eastern gobbleguts can be seen carrying eggs in their mouths during their brooding period. The striated anglerfish uses its glowing lure to attract prey while waiting in the shadows. The pyjama squid moves smoothly along the seabed, its striped body clearly visible. These photos show the interesting and diverse creatures that come out after dark in Sydney Harbour.
