Daniel Muscat, Bush Family Portrait (ANIMAL & NATURE 2026)

These photographs were captured at Kangaroo Boundary Road Reserve in Bathurst, home to a large population of kangaroo. Rather than documenting a single moment, I wanted to create a series that felt like a family portrait. Family portraits are cherished because they preserve moments in time and celebrate the connections between those we love. Watching the kangaroos gather, protect their young, and move together through the bush reminded me that these same bonds exist in the natural world. Through this collection, I hope to capture not only the beauty of these animals, but also the quiet story of family, belonging, and the enduring connections that unite all living things. Shot on my Canon R6 Mark II with a Canon RF 70–200mm f/2.8 lens.
