Brian Love, Bird 'with' Prey (ANIMAL & NATURE 2026)

We've all heard of Birds 'of' Prey. Raptors such as Eagles, hawks, falcons etc. But there are many other bird species that are not seed or fruit eaters. These birds feed primarily feed on on insects, but may also feed on rodents, reptiles and other protein based food items. The birds featured are found in Southern Africa and in these particular images, in the Greater Kruger area. For images with motion, a fast shutter speed is required of at least 1/2000th of a second. Birds in the portfolio are, Forest Kingfisher, Southern Yellow-billed Hornbill, Lilac-breasted Roller and Southern Ground Hornbill. The Southern Ground Hornbill is the largest Hornbill in the world.
