Paul Evans, Avian Predator (ANIMAL & NATURE 2025)

The bulk of the Wedge-tailed Eagles’ diet is made up of carrion from road kill and other carcasses. This one was in an area well off the road so I was able to get some photos from the car before it saw me and took off. Even from a distance the bird is magnificent - broad wings, sharp beak and talons, piercing eyes.
