Andrew Xu, Architectures of the Understory (BLACK & WHITE 2026)
A macro exploration of fungal geometry, this portfolio reframes biological field specimens as gigantic, monumental architecture. By eliminating colour and applying directional raking light, the series highlights the intricate structural engineering of the understory: the cracked, cobblestone mosaics of dorsal caps, the towering vertical columns of stipes, and the precise symmetry of fluted gills.
