Paul Evans, A Man in a High Castle (TRAVEL 2026)

On a cold and foggy day in Scotland I was keen to visit Carnasserie castle. Some of my McCallum ancestors lived in a settlement or beg surrounding the castle which has been in ruins since 1685. I walked up the hill and climbed to the top of the castle tower to look out across Kilmartin Glen. At the top of the castle tower with the wind blowing a gale, I was surprised to meet a man dressed in traditional Scottish costume who was there to create social media content. He flourished his cape and posed for a photograph.
