NOLA VICKERY, A BEDOUIN WELCOME TO WADI RUM, JORDAN (TRAVEL 2026)
The immense rugged cliffs of Wadi Rum, Jordan were fascinating, but offered no respite from the searing heat. Thankfully, I was invited to visit a remote teahouse near Siq Um al Tawaqi (‘Lawrence Canyon’). My Bedouin host was overjoyed to have company and greeted me as if I was a long-lost friend. He served his freshly-made tea with an infectious smile - which was as warm as the conditions outside.
