Photographer of the Year, presented by Ted's Cameras, is the largest competition of its kind for amateur photographers in Australia and New Zealand.
Now in its 13th year, it offers nine categories (both portfolio and single shot) and a prize pool totalling more than $28,000, including $10,000 in cash prizes.
The competition closed Sunday 19 October 2025 and will culminate with the release of a special Photographer of the Year edition of Australian Photography magazine in December, showcasing more than 500 of the best images from the competition in print. Further, a selection of category winners will be printed on A2 paper and exhibited at Ted's World of Imaging store in Pitt St, Sydney.
In the portfolio categories images should be related – thematically and/or aesthetically.
You must be an amateur photographer to enter (check the terms and conditions for more details), and a citizen or resident of Australia or New Zealand.
